JOB DESCRIPTION
Insight Global is seeking a skilled Data Governance Engineer to support a fast-paced, aggressive-timeline data modernization initiative. This role is centered on ensuring that data assets ingested into a Databricks environment are properly catalogued, governed, and exposed through Collibra — the organization's enterprise data governance platform. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in data quality rule configuration, data lineage, and governance metadata management, and must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
• Configure and maintain data quality rules within Collibra to ensure data integrity across the enterprise data environment
• Capture and expose governance metadata — including data lineage, data definitions, and quality metrics — within Collibra for enterprise-wide consumption
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to understand data assets residing in Databricks and ensure proper governance coverage
• Build and maintain the governance layer within Collibra for newly ingested data pipelines and datasets
• Validate that data lineage is accurately reflected in Collibra as new data flows are introduced into the Databricks environment
• Work closely with internal stakeholders and interview panel leads (including the designated Collibra governance reviewer) to align governance standards with project requirements
• Perform manual governance configuration work to ensure all new data assets are properly registered, classified, and accessible within the enterprise governance framework
• Proactively communicate blockers, delivery timelines, and progress updates to project leadership without waiting for direction
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• 5+ years of experience in a data governance, data quality, or senior data analyst capacity
• Hands-on experience with Collibra — specifically configuring data quality rules, managing data lineage, and maintaining governance metadata
• Working knowledge of Databricks and how it integrates with governance platforms like Collibra
• Demonstrated ability to understand data pipelines and translate technical data flows into governance artifacts
• Strong accountability mindset — ability to own deliverables end-to-end, self-manage, and proactively communicate status and blockers
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with technical teams and enterprise stakeholders
• Background in Medicare or healthcare is a strong plus, though not strictly required
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Experience with healthcare or other regulated data environments.
Familiarity with PII/PHI data standards.
Experience supporting data quality or metadata management programs.
Exposure to Databricks environments and cloud-based data platforms.
