Role description
ABOUT THE ROLE
Paradigm's Data & AI practice is growing, and we're looking for a Data Governance Generalist who is as comfortable facilitating a data literacy workshop in a boardroom as they are building a data quality policy in a catalog. This is a practitioner-level role that sits at the intersection of governance frameworks, enterprise enablement, and content-driven change management.
You will work directly with enterprise clients across industries to establish, operationalize, and sustain data governance programs β with a distinct emphasis on driving adoption through structured training curricula, on-demand content, and hands-on literacy programs that make data governance tangible for business stakeholders.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Data Governance Program Delivery
β’ Design, implement, and operationalize data governance frameworks aligned to DAMA DMBOK principles across policy, stewardship, and accountability structures
β’ Support the development and execution of Data Governance Operating Models (DGOMs) including roles, councils, and escalation paths
β’ Define and enforce data ownership, data stewardship, and data trustee responsibilities in collaboration with client business and IT stakeholders
β’ Lead governance maturity assessments and translate findings into prioritized, phased roadmaps
Data Quality & Risk
β’ Establish and maintain data quality rules, scorecards, and remediation workflows across critical data domains
β’ Define data quality dimensions (completeness, accuracy, consistency, timeliness, uniqueness) and instrument measurement frameworks within client platforms
β’ Identify, document, and manage data risk across the data lifecycle β including lineage gaps, access control deficiencies, and regulatory exposure
β’ Partner with risk, compliance, and legal teams to align governance controls with regulatory frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, BCBS 239, etc.)
Data Lifecycle & Metadata Management
β’ Map and document end-to-end data lifecycle stages β from creation and ingestion through archival and deletion β and establish governance controls at each stage
β’ Drive adoption of data catalog platforms (e.g., Informatica CDGC, Alation, Collibra, Atlan) including business glossary development, metadata tagging, and classification schema design
β’ Build and maintain data dictionaries, canonical data models, and reference/master data governance artifacts
β’ Partner with data engineering and platform teams to embed metadata capture, lineage tracking, and data contract enforcement into pipelines
Data Literacy, Training & Content Creation
β’ Design and deliver structured data literacy programs for business stakeholders ranging from frontline analysts to executive sponsors
β’ Develop reusable training curricula, e-learning modules, quick reference guides, and playbooks that demystify governance concepts for non-technical audiences
β’ Create engaging enablement content β including presentations, workshop decks, videos, knowledge base articles, and governance newsletters β that drives sustained behavioral change
β’ Facilitate governance workshops, lunch-and-learns, office hours, and onboarding sessions for data stewards and data domain owners
β’ Build and manage a governance knowledge hub or learning portal in partnership with client communications and HR teams
β’ Measure literacy program effectiveness through assessments, adoption metrics, and stakeholder feedback loops
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required Qualifications
β’ 5+ years of hands-on experience in data governance, data management, or a closely related data discipline
β’ Demonstrated experience designing and delivering data literacy programs, training curricula, or governance enablement content for enterprise audiences
β’ Working knowledge of DAMA DMBOK and practical ability to apply its knowledge areas across a governance engagement
β’ Experience defining and operationalizing data quality frameworks including profiling, rule definition, scorecarding, and remediation workflows
β’ Hands-on familiarity with at least one enterprise data catalog platform (Informatica CDGC, Alation, Collibra, Atlan, or equivalent)
β’ Ability to document and communicate complex governance concepts clearly to both technical and business audiences
β’ Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills β you can run a workshop, hold a room, and build trust with skeptical business users
β’ DallasβFort Worth metro area residency; ability to be onsite with clients 3 days per week
Preferred Qualifications
β’ CDMP certification (Associate or Practitioner) or equivalent DAMA-recognized credential
β’ Experience with instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM) or learning management system (LMS) administration
β’ Exposure to data contract frameworks, DataOps practices, or governance-as-code principles
β’ Familiarity with regulatory data requirements across financial services, healthcare, energy, or manufacturing verticals
β’ Experience deploying or configuring Informatica IDMC/CDGC, including business glossary workflows and policy center
β’ Background in change management or organizational transformation (Prosci ADKAR or similar)
THE IDEAL PROFILE
You don't just govern data β you teach people to care about it. You've sat in enough governance steering committees to know that the framework is only half the battle; the other half is getting a business analyst in accounts receivable to understand why data quality is their problem too. You build things people actually use: training materials that don't collect dust, policies written in plain language, catalogs that business users find intuitive enough to come back to.
You're organized, credible, and comfortable operating across ambiguity. You know when to reference a DMBOK knowledge area and when to set the textbook aside and solve the real problem in front of you. You take pride in the quality of your deliverables and hold yourself to the same standard you'd expect from the data programs you help build.
WHY PARADIGM
β’ Work on strategic, high-visibility data governance engagements across enterprise clients β not ticket-driven support
β’ Join a practice that leads with thought leadership and outcome-based delivery, not staff augmentation
β’ Collaborate with a team of senior practitioners who specialize in Data & AI governance, agentic infrastructure, and enterprise transformation
β’ Competitive compensation, benefits, and professional development support including certification sponsorship
β’ Dallas-based team culture with flexibility to work in a hybrid model
β’
β’
β’
β’
β’ This role requires 3 days a week onsite- must be local to DFW area
