Job Title: Data Modeler Duration: 12-18 month contract, potential for FTE Company: Financial - Banking Location: Charlotte, NC, Kennesaw, Richmond, Chicago Overview: We are seeking an experienced Data Modeler to join our team. This role involves designing and maintaining conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support our data warehouse and business intelligence applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data modeling, database platforms, and data warehouse standards. Responsibilities: • Serve as the senior data modeler, reviewing all database design changes. • Collaborate with product owners to understand and refine requirements. • Analyze datasets to validate requirements, identifying components and their relationships. • Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models to meet requirement specifications and data warehouse standards. • Support development and testing efforts. • Maintain an inventory of data models, working to remediate any gaps. • Ensure timely delivery of all documentation and design activities. • Communicate effectively both in writing and orally. Qualifications: • 5+ years of experience designing conceptual, logical, and physical data models using industry-standard data modeling software such as PowerDesigner, Erwin, etc. • 5+ years of experience working with Data Warehouse / Data Mart / Business Intelligence applications. • 5+ years of experience with Oracle, Oracle Exadata, SQL Server, or other industry-standard database platforms. • Expert knowledge of Star / Snowflake and Third Normal Form (3NF) data modeling methodologies. • Previous experience in the banking or financial sector is a plus. • Familiarity with Scrum/Agile methodologies is preferred. Compensation: $60/hr to $70/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
