Job Summary
We are seeking a seasoned Data Modeler / Data Architect responsible for translating complex business and reporting needs, particularly related to customer analytics, into robust conceptual, logical, and physical data models. A primary focus of the role is the design and implementation of highly optimized data models in AWS Redshift, utilizing expertise in dimensional modeling (Star and Snowflake schemas). The successful candidate will define data standards and transformation requirements for data engineering teams and possess strong knowledge of the AWS data architecture ecosystem (Redshift, Glue, Step Functions, and DataZone).
Key Focus Areas & Required Technical Skills
• Data Modelling Expertise: Expertise in dimensional modelling (Star and Snowflake schemas) is mandatory.
• Design & Documentation: Proficiently design and document conceptual, logical, and physical models for analytical use cases, specifically focusing on AWS Redshift.
• Translation & Requirements: Experience working with business SMEs to understand analytical and reporting requirements and defining data standards and data pipeline transformation requirements.
• AWS Redshift Specialization: Experience with AWS Redshift and demonstrated ability to implement models (tables, views/materialized view) and perform performance optimization.
• Data Architecture Knowledge: Familiarity with the AWS data ecosystem, including AWS Glue, Redshift, and Step Functions.
• Governance: Knowledge of AWS Datazone for managing data lineage and governance.
• Domain (Ideal): Ideally, experience working with customer analytics.
