Role description
Remote Role Virtual Interviews Position: Data Modeler Location: St. Louis, MO Duration: 12 Months with EXT ONLY ON W2! The Product Health Team is responsible for the retention and maintenance of driver and loyalty profile information for EM customers, and making this data securely available to other services, solutions, and third-party vendors. You will be part of a technical team consisting of analysts, engineers, and other technical leaders responsible for a suite of applications and services, supporting Renter and Loyalty capabilities, using technologies such as RESTful APIs, AWS Cloud, React, Oracle, and Teradata. As an Engineer 2, you will be responsible for using your technical knowledge of professional concepts to solve business problems. We are looking for a talented individual who can serve as a subject matter expert in their area of focus and represent our department on complex assignments. In this hybrid role, you'll combine data engineering with software development to build robust, scalable, and high-performance systems that power our data-driven platforms. You will be responsible for evaluating elements of technology's effectiveness through requirements gathering, testing, research, and investigation, and making recommendations for improvements that result in increased quality and effectiveness. You will be required to listen to and evaluate customer needs to determine and provide high-quality solutions that align with customer expectations. Job Description: • Protects our customers, our employees, and our brands by incorporating security and compliance in all decisions; ensures security policy and procedure requirements are met; continuously identifies opportunities for improving security and implements strategies to improve our security posture. • Provides technical expertise for the planning, analysis, design, implementation, and control of the organization's data. • Handles complex or critical data management initiatives that typically involve multiple disciplines and multiple business groups, including responsibility for database design, integration, source-to-target mapping, data modeling and performance tuning. • Consults with multiple client groups to provide solutions, implementing long-range internal and enterprise-level data architecture and management strategies. • Understand and translate business needs into data models supporting long-term solutions. • Closely interact with business partners, stakeholders, functional experts, business analysts, contractors, and developers to understand the system requirements and architect and design the data model and database schema based on the requirements. • Support baseline responsibilities, including on-call and/or release management rotations as needed. Required: • Must reside in the United States (does not include Alaska or Hawaii) • Must be able to work a schedule within U.S. Central Standard Time core business hours. • Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities. • Must have 3 or more years of experience in Data Model design. • Must have 3 or more years of experience writing and tuning complex SQLs, and the ability to analyze and make recommendations on results. • Must have good oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with various IT teams and business representatives. • Must be able to both collaborate in a team-oriented environment and work independently with direction. • Strong Data Analysis skills and Strong Data Modeling skills. • Teradata experience, bonus for familiarity with Teradata Data Definition Language(DDL) table create statements • Working knowledge of data modeling and modeling methodologies. • Experience in Data Software Engineering, preferably Java • Expertise with Big Data technologies, Business Intelligence, and data warehousing development technologies. • Experience with Oracle SQL Preferred: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred • Java development experience • Experience with Big Data solutions and NoSQL DBMSs • Experience with Azure, AWS, or other Public Cloud environments • Prior experience with EHI IT rental or vehicle domain knowledge (preferred, not required) • Experience with configuration management and build automation capabilities such as Git/Jenkins. • Experience with API development • Knowledge and working experience with Agile methodologies
