Role description
We are seeking an Experienced Data Modeler to join our Data Architecture & Modeling team in New York. This is a high-impact, hands-on role for someone who thrives at the intersection of business strategy and data engineering.
As part of the firm’s enterprise data initiative, you’ll work directly with bankers, operational leaders, and senior executives to design logical and semantic data models that power analytics, reporting, and client insights across the firm. You’ll help turn raw, fragmented datasets into trusted, business-ready information that drives decision-making.
What You’ll Do
Partner with bankers and senior stakeholders to capture workflows, entities, and data requirements.
Design and maintain logical and semantic data models aligned with our enterprise architecture.
Define key attributes, hierarchies, and business rules for core domains — from deals and sponsors to funds and coverage.
Explore and shape raw data into domain tables using SQL, Python, and Databricks.
Collaborate with engineers to prototype and deliver production-grade pipelines.
Serve as a bridge between business and technical teams — ensuring models are both accurate and actionable.
What We’re Looking For
5–8 years of experience in data architecture, solution design, or hybrid business/data roles — ideally within financial services or consulting.
Strong command of SQL, Python, and Databricks.
Deep understanding of data modeling, semantics, and master data management.
Comfortable translating complex data concepts for both business and technical audiences.
Proactive, organized, and eager to drive both strategic design and hands-on execution.
