Role description
Job Title: Data Modeller - Insurance Sector
Location: London (Hybrid - 3 Days Onsite)
Employment Type: Outside IR35 / Contract 3 months rolling
A leading insurance organisation is seeking a mid-level Data Modeller to support enterprise data initiatives across multiple business lines. This is a contract opportunity suited to someone who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and brings strong domain knowledge in insurance data. Key Responsibilities
β’ Develop and maintain conceptual and logical data models aligned with business processes and insurance domain requirements.
β’ Collaborate with analysts, SMEs, and stakeholders to gather and translate requirements into scalable data models.
β’ Ensure consistency and integrity of data models across retail, specialist, and reinsurance lines.
β’ Document data structures and business rules using tools such as ERwin, PowerDesigner, or Sparx EA.
β’ Uphold data modelling standards and governance practices.
β’ Work closely with architecture and process improvement teams to ensure alignment.
β’ Contribute to metadata management, data lineage, and master/reference data initiatives.
β’ Support data quality and remediation efforts.
β’ Facilitate stakeholder workshops and build strong relationships with end users.
β’ Communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences. Skills & Experience
β’ Minimum 5 years of experience in data modelling, ideally within the insurance sector.
β’ Proven experience in data governance and delivery of data models.
β’ Strong understanding of Master and Reference Data Management.
β’ Certifications such as CDMP, TOGAF, or DAMA are advantageous.
β’ Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
β’ Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a dynamic environment. Working Arrangement
β’ Based in London with a hybrid working model (minimum 3 days onsite per week).
β’ English-speaking environment.
β’ Contract engagement outside IR35.
