Data Modeller

Job Title: Data Modeller - Insurance Sector Location: London (Hybrid - 3 Days Onsite) Employment Type: Outside IR35 / Contract 3 months rolling A leading insurance organisation is seeking a mid-level Data Modeller to support enterprise data initiatives across multiple business lines. This is a contract opportunity suited to someone who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and brings strong domain knowledge in insurance data. Key Responsibilities • Develop and maintain conceptual and logical data models aligned with business processes and insurance domain requirements. • Collaborate with analysts, SMEs, and stakeholders to gather and translate requirements into scalable data models. • Ensure consistency and integrity of data models across retail, specialist, and reinsurance lines. • Document data structures and business rules using tools such as ERwin, PowerDesigner, or Sparx EA. • Uphold data modelling standards and governance practices. • Work closely with architecture and process improvement teams to ensure alignment. • Contribute to metadata management, data lineage, and master/reference data initiatives. • Support data quality and remediation efforts. • Facilitate stakeholder workshops and build strong relationships with end users. • Communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences. Skills & Experience • Minimum 5 years of experience in data modelling, ideally within the insurance sector. • Proven experience in data governance and delivery of data models. • Strong understanding of Master and Reference Data Management. • Certifications such as CDMP, TOGAF, or DAMA are advantageous. • Excellent communication and facilitation skills. • Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a dynamic environment. Working Arrangement • Based in London with a hybrid working model (minimum 3 days onsite per week). • English-speaking environment. • Contract engagement outside IR35.
