Data Platform Architect Position is Remote Visa: USC, GC DL & LinkedIn needed Rate: 60/hr w2 Must Haves: AWS CHINA OR ALIBABA CLOUD Informatica Data Pipelines Terraform Automation and CI/CD Job Description: Role Overview We are seeking a Lead Data Platform Engineer to support and modernize a public-cloud data ecosystem, with an emphasis on AWS, big data platforms, and automation. This is a hands-on lead role that blends cloud data engineering, production operations, automation, and technical leadership. This position will support global data initiatives, including environments that may require specific regional expertise. Key Responsibilities Support production and non-production cloud data platforms. Build, test, and refine cloud data processes. Own and improve automation and CI/CD pipelines. Configure and tune Informatica in cloud environments. Work in AWS multi-account architectures. Lead and mentor other engineers through direct and indirect leadership. Partner with global teams using cloud technologies. Execute against a multi-year cloud and data roadmap. Troubleshoot and resolve complex data and platform issues. Required Qualifications 5-7 years of experience supporting applications in a production environment. 2+ years of experience with open-source cloud provisioning tools such as Terraform or Ansible in production cloud environments. 2+ years of AWS experience in a multi-account topology, including services like RDS, RedShift, IAM, S3, and EMR. 2+ years of scripting (Bash, Python) and CI/CD pipeline deployment experience in production environments for automation. 2+ years of industry experience with big data applications deployed in a public cloud, such as Informatica, AWS EMR, Spark, or Datalake. Demonstrated experience leading engineers, mentoring team members, and managing large-scale projects. Preferred Qualifications Experience with AWS China or Alibaba Cloud. Proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin). Experience supporting China-based or APAC data environments. Relevant public cloud certifications (AWS, Terraform, Ansible). Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent professional experience. Must‑Have Requirements (Screen Firmly) Cloud & Infrastructure ✅ AWS experience (2+ years in production) Must include multi‑account topology Services: RDS, Redshift, S3, IAM, EMR ✅ Infrastructure as Code (2+ years) Terraform required Ansible strongly preferred Big Data & Data Platforms ✅ Informatica experience Configuration and tuning (not just exposure) ✅ Big data tools in public cloud: AWS EMR Spark Data lakes ✅ Understanding of cloud‑based data pipelines Automation & DevOps ✅ Scripting: Python and/or Bash ✅ CI/CD pipelines used in production ✅ Automation to improve efficiency and deployments Production Experience ✅ 5–7 years supporting production applications Comfortable with: Operational support Troubleshooting live systems Mission‑critical workloads
