Tittle : Job Title: Data Platform Architect – Observability & Governance (GCP) Location: Remote Role Overview: We are seeking a seasoned Data Platform Architect with deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to lead and be accountable for observability, operations, and evaluation of data governance and observability tools across our enterprise data ecosystem. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability, transparency, and scalability of our data infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: • Own and drive the observability strategy for the data platform, ensuring end-to-end visibility across data pipelines, services, and infrastructure. • Lead operational excellence initiatives including monitoring, alerting, incident response, and performance tuning. • Evaluate, recommend, and implement data governance and observability tools to enhance platform reliability and compliance. • Architect and optimize data pipelines using Cloud Composer and Dataflow, ensuring scalability and cost-efficiency. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define SLAs, SLOs, and KPIs for data services. • Provide architectural guidance and mentorship to engineering teams on GCP-native solutions. • Maintain documentation and best practices for platform operations and governance. Required Qualifications: • 12–15 years of experience in data engineering, platform architecture, or related roles. • Proven expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), especially in data services like BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer, and Cloud Storage. • Strong understanding of data pipeline orchestration, streaming and batch processing, and data lifecycle management. • Hands-on experience with Cloud Composer and Dataflow for orchestrating and managing data workflows. • Solid grasp of observability principles including logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting in cloud-native environments. Preferred Qualifications: • Working experience with Atlan (data governance platform) and Datafold (data quality and observability). • Familiarity with data cataloging, lineage tracking, and metadata management. • Experience in implementing data governance frameworks and policies. • GCP certifications (e.g., Professional Data Engineer, Cloud Architect) are a plus. Soft Skills: • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional initiatives.
