Our Client, a Global Financial Services Firm, a Data Privacy Specialist in their Weehawken, NJ
Your Team
Youβll be part of the Chief Information Security Office within Wealth Management Americas. Our mission is to drive secure, intelligent decision-making by ensuring data is accessible, trusted, and well understood across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Investigate incidents involving potential exposure of client-identifying data (CID) to unauthorized parties.
β’ Escalate confirmed data breaches in the Data Breach Handling Tool and assist violators in completing incident details.
β’ Evaluate the severity of incidents by reviewing exposed data elements and comparing against policy requirements.
β’ Collaborate with Data Protection Legal and the Data Protection Office to assess regulatory and client notification obligations.
β’ Coordinate breach responses across key stakeholders to ensure processing within service level agreements (SLAs).
β’ Support the Data Protection Office in preparing required client breach notifications.
β’ Liaise with outside legal counsel to evaluate and document client privacy complaints.
β’ Educate employees and clients on recommended security practices following suspected identity theft incidents.
β’ Review employee-reported phishing attempts, provide appropriate guidance, and update ID theft logs.
β’ Respond to field inquiries related to data privacy and data loss prevention (DLP).
Requirements:
β’ Bachelorβs or Associate degree in a business or technology-related field.
β’ Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Data Analyst within Financial Services.
β’ Solid understanding of information security and/or client privacy concepts.
β’ Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables), PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
β’ Exceptional attention to detail and strong follow-up/follow-through skills.
β’ Effective communication skills β verbal, written, and presentation.
β’ Strong judgment, time management, and the ability to work under deadline pressure.
β’ Proven ability to deliver results in a dynamic and evolving environment.
β’ Knowledge of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools and strategies.
β’ Experience with Symantec/Broadcom or Microsoft DLP platforms.
β’ Basic IT knowledge.
β’ Familiarity with regulatory privacy guidelines and breach notification processes.
