Role description
About the Role
Our client is seeking a hands-on Data Product Management Lead to drive modernization and innovation across enterprise data platforms. This is a key leadership role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, creates clarity, and can connect business needs to technical delivery. Youβll play a pivotal part in transforming legacy systems, implementing governance frameworks, and leading the adoption of modern data platforms β especially Databricks.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Act as a hands-on builder β not just a strategist β bringing structure and clarity to ambiguous situations.
β’ Lead the modernization of data infrastructure, governance, and management across the enterprise.
β’ Drive the implementation and optimization of Databricks (Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, workspace management).
β’ Build and manage a robust product backlog, balancing quick wins with long-term transformation goals.
β’ Partner closely with VP of Digital Product & Innovation and VP of Data & Analytics to align on strategy and execution.
β’ Translate business requirements into actionable technical product features for engineering and data teams.
β’ Lead cross-functional initiatives to centralize data, improve quality, and enhance governance (MDM, data lineage, data catalog).
Skills & Experience
β’ 8+ years of product management experience with a focus on data platforms or enterprise data products.
β’ Databricks expertise β direct, hands-on implementation and ownership (not just exposure).
β’ Strong understanding of data governance, MDM, and data quality frameworks.
β’ Proven success modernizing legacy systems and migrating to modern data architectures.
β’ Strong technical acumen and ability to engage deeply with engineers and data architects.
β’ Familiarity with agile delivery models and dual-track approaches.
β’ Background in regulated industries such as insurance, financial services, or healthcare is highly preferred.
Leadership & Collaboration
β’ Effective bridge between business and technical teams, influencing senior stakeholders and engineering groups.
β’ Comfortable working at both strategy and execution levels to deliver measurable outcomes.
β’ Demonstrated success leading enterprise-level data initiatives and driving adoption across multiple departments.
Contract Details & Benefits:
β’ Remote flexibility with potential for hybrid collaboration.
β’ Competitive hourly or salary rate based on experience.
β’ Opportunity to shape and modernize enterprise data infrastructure at scale.
