Data Protection Engineer Remote role, US (EST Remote hours) 12+ Months Contract (W2) Position Overview: The Data Protection Engineer (Delphix Data Masking) role is a position focused on architecting, implementing, and optimizing data masking solutions using Delphix. This role involves working with cross-functional teams to ensure sensitive data in non-production environments is secured through robust masking techniques and virtualization strategies. Project Details: Will use Delphix to mask highly sensitive banking data from internal employees as they move data centers Reason for need: Data Center Moves & Internal Growth due to SVB acquisition Project: Delphix Data Masking Project Top Skills: • Delphix is required • Data Masking expertise with 5+ years in data protection, encryption and transit of data • Oracle Database • SQL Qualifications: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent experience. • 5+ years of experience in data protection, encryption, or related roles. • Deep expertise in encryption technologies (Oracle TDE, SQL Server encryption) and TLS configurations. • Proven experience with Delphix data masking and virtualization tools, including custom algorithm development. • Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills. • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or Oracle Database Security certifications are preferred. EIT Experience Day to day responsibilities • Design, implement, and maintain encryption-in-transit solutions (TLS 1.2+, HTTPS, SFTP, SSH), including configuring cipher suites, securing applications/APIs, optimizing performance, and upgrading legacy systems. • Monitor and troubleshoot encryption environments, perform vulnerability scans, resolve certificate/handshake issues, support incident response, and ensure compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI DSS. • Manage and optimize Delphix data masking and virtualization, apply masking algorithms, address issues, support system upgrades, and maintain automation/testing for non-production environments. • Provide leadership and collaboration across teams, including documentation, training, risk assessments, guiding junior engineers, and driving data protection projects end-to-end while staying current on security trends.
