Job Title: Data Scientist 3Location: Onsite – Richmond, VA (Must be within a 2-hour drive)Duration: Long-Term ContractInterview Mode: In-Person Only Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist 3 to support the Professional Services Procurement Office. The ideal candidate will analyze large and complex datasets to uncover trends, generate insights, and drive strategic decisions in the procurement domainβ€”particularly professional services procurement. You will be expected to design and build data pipelines, create statistical models, and translate data into actionable insights for leadership. A strong combination of technical proficiency, business acumen, and experience in procurement-related reporting systems is required. Key Responsibilities Collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify trends and actionable insights Communicate findings and recommendations to business and IT leaders Design and optimize data models and data processes for procurement analytics Mine data from various internal and external sources Recommend new uses for data and technologies to improve procurement strategies Build large, scalable data sets and ensure data integrity Work cross-functionally with procurement, business, and technical teams Contribute to the strategic use of data in public sector procurement Required Skills & Experience (7+ Years Each) Statistics and Probability Database Management Machine Learning and Deep Learning Data Visualization (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) Cloud Computing (AWS preferred) Predictive Analytics and Statistical Modeling Data Cleansing and Transformation Cross-Functional Collaboration Business Intelligence and Reporting Experience in Public Sector or Procurement Data Environments Tools & Technologies Programming: SQL, Python, PySpark, Shell Scripting, PowerShell Visualization: Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Jupyter Cloud: AWS (EC2, S3, Redshift, Athena, Lambda, etc.), Azure Data Lake Big Data: Apache Spark, Hive, HDFS, MapReduce Databases: Snowflake, Redshift, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server Frameworks: Git/GitHub, SSH, Putty, XML, JSON Additional Requirements Must be onsite in Richmond, VA – within a 2-hour driving distance Must pass a mandatory in-person interview Must reside within the United States for the duration of the project (no offshore work permitted) Submission Requirements Please include the following with your application: Resume tailored to the required skills Confirmation that the candidate resides within the U.S. Candidate email address Confirmation of availability for in-person interview in Richmond, VA Current location and proximity to Richmond, VA Apply now if you're a data-driven professional ready to lead analytics for strategic procurement transformation in the public sector.
