Role description
A leading consumer technology company is seeking a Contract Data Scientist to join its Ecommerce Product Analytics team for a 6-month engagement. This role supports data-driven decision-making by analyzing user behavior, designing and interpreting A/B tests, and uncovering insights that improve user experience and conversion.
Youβll collaborate with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to define success metrics, monitor KPIs, and translate findings into actionable recommendations. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Director of Product Analytics.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Perform behavioral and funnel analysis to identify user patterns
β’ Design and interpret A/B tests and experiments
β’ Build and maintain dashboards using Looker
β’ Identify and resolve data quality issues
β’ Present insights through clear, compelling business storytelling
β’ Lead weekly/monthly reporting and stakeholder update calls
Team & Work Environment
β’ Embedded in the Product Analytics Team within the Ecommerce vertical
β’ High interaction with product owners, engineers, and senior stakeholders
β’ Hybrid work model: 3 days onsite at the New York HQ
β’ Role covers maternity leave with planned overlap for smooth handoff
β’ Extension possible based on performance and business needs
Ideal Candidate Profile
β’ 2β4 years of experience in eCommerce analytics
β’ Strong SQL skills (2β4 years)
β’ Experience with Looker and Amplitude
β’ Background in hardware-focused ecommerce platforms (e.g., Amazon, eBay)
β’ Python knowledge is a plus
β’ Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
β’ Bachelorβs degree preferred, but relevant experience accepted
