Role description
Data Scientist Long term contract San Francisco, CA – 4X a week This person will be responsible for diving into customer data to uncover insights and drive programs within technology. Client is looking more deeply into how they approach their business questions and want to bring on a business data scientist to help support. β€’ Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive business strategy. β€’ Develop and implement predictive models and statistical analyses to inform decision-making. β€’ Conduct strong exploratory data analysis (EDA) to uncover stories within the data and effectively communicate findings to a wider audience. β€’ Collaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements and deliver analytical solutions. β€’ Visualize data and present findings to non-technical audiences in a clear and compelling manner. β€’ Identify patterns, issues, and augmentation techniques in data to provide ML engineers with the necessary information for building AI/ML models. β€’ Participate in the design and development of data pipelines using Spark and other big data technologies β€’ Monitor and maintain the performance of deployed models and analytics solutions. β€’ Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in data science and big data technologies. β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus. β€’ 3-5 years of experience in data science or a related role. β€’ Strong preference for candidates with retail data experience β€’ Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scala. β€’ Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark). β€’ Strong understanding of statistical models and machine learning techniques. β€’ Proven ability to understand the data ecosystem, can pull out insights & tease out the patterns with that data β€’ Having knowledge of different statistical packages and correct model application based off business questions & analysis at hand β€’ Strong exploratory data analysis (EDA) capabilities with a knack for storytelling through data. β€’ Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. β€’ Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information effectively. β€’ Supply chain, ecommerce, healthcare or marketing backgrounds are a plus β€’ Experience presenting data created in visualization tool is a plus (Client uses PowerBI mainly) β€’ Ability to work effectively with teams in a collaborative, cross-functional environment. β€’ Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines. β€’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data insights clearly to various stakeholders.
