Role description
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist III to join a dynamic team in the pharmaceutical industry, working on cutting-edge data initiatives to drive business impact. This role blends data science, data engineering, and analytics to transform complex business needs into actionable insights. Location: Waukegan, IL Duration: Contract through December 2025 Work Arrangement: On-site Responsibilities: β€’ Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and address business objectives through analytical solutions. β€’ Partner with product managers and analysts to deliver reliable, high-quality data deliverables. β€’ Build and maintain scalable data pipelines, optimizing ETL processes for structured and unstructured data. β€’ Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security across platforms. β€’ Implement data quality checks and monitor pipeline performance. β€’ Work in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Cloudera, Dataiku) and with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop). β€’ Apply data science concepts (predictive analytics, machine learning, deep learning, etc.) to solve real-world problems. β€’ Use agile project management frameworks to guide data science initiatives. β€’ Communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders through clear presentations. Qualifications: β€’ Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or related field. β€’ Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience with a proven track record in data science or engineering. Technical Skills: β€’ Proficiency in Python and SQL (required); R programming is a plus. β€’ Strong experience with big data technologies and exploratory data analysis (EDA). β€’ Practical knowledge of machine learning, time series forecasting, deep learning, and LLMs. β€’ Familiarity with relational (e.g., Teradata) and non-relational (e.g., Hadoop) environments; Java, Scala, or Apache Spark is a bonus. β€’ Soft Skills: β€’ Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey technical concepts to business stakeholders. β€’ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. β€’ Self-motivated, intellectually curious, and eager to innovate and improve business processes. Nice-to-Haves: β€’ Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry. β€’ Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or tools like Dataiku or Cloudera. Why Join Our Client?
