Role description
On behalf of the Cabinet Office, we are looking for a Data Scientist (Inside IR35) for a 2 month contract based REMOTELY. Note: SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position, (and speed at which we require a postholder in situ), preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance The Applied Data & Insight team (ADI) within the Cabinet Office sit at the centre of the Government Communications profession and are formed from a group of multidisciplinary experts from backgrounds in Digital, Data Science, Software Development, Insight & Evaluation, Behavioural Science and Communications working closely together to deliver effective data-driven solutions across government. We are looking for a Data Scientist to join ADI. The role holder will work alongside AI Engineers, Developers, User Researchers and a Product Manager to help design and implement a new data-driven feature for our Assist product. You will also have the opportunity to support a transformational period for Government Communications by being at the heart of ensuring a joined-up data ecosystem that underpins the integration between Assist and our marketing technology ecosystem. You will use your expertise to champion innovative uses of audience segmentation data alongside robust compliance processes, whilst supporting to put in place data infrastructure that enables government communicators to plan, execute and measure campaigns with unprecedented clarity and insight. You'll work collaboratively with our digital team to create standardised workflows and establish comprehensive measurement frameworks across our product. This role is designed for an enthusiastic and innovative individual who will have the opportunity to help shape and lead a cross-government AI product that impacts how the government communicates with every citizen. You will need to be curious about new and emerging opportunities, including the ability to deliver data-driven synthetic audiences for insight and research using generative AI. The role holder will work within an agile environment, delivering towards weekly sprints. Reporting to the Head of AI products you will; RESPONSIBILITIES β€’ Help design, develop and deliver a new capability focusing on turning existing audience data and insights into AI-powered audience capabilities, mirroring the demographics and attitudes of β€˜real world’ audiences. β€’ Work across the team to ensure data-driven and informed decisions are made on the application design and testing approaches. β€’ Support the configuration and integration of data between Assist and other GCS platforms and tools. β€’ Work across teams to ensure informed data decisions are made on the design and implementation of innovative new technologies. β€’ Collaborate with a Product Manager and other Software Developers to ensure work is sufficiently organised and completed. β€’ Contribute to the required documentation and Agile project maintenance responsibilities. Essential criteria: β€’ Understanding of how to prepare, manage and process data to optimise for accurate and reliable results. β€’ Understanding of data privacy and ethical considerations when applying data in digital and AI tools. β€’ Comfortable presenting technical solutions to senior stakeholders in a clear and concise manner. Desirable criteria: β€’ Previous experience in marketing analytics, communications and/or audience segmentation Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas.
