Data Scientist

Primary Talent Partners has a new ontract opening for a Data Scientist to join a multinational educational publishing company in Maryland, MD. This is a 12-month contract with a potential for extension. Pay: $70.00 - $84.00/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Description: • As a Data Scientist you will join a team of data scientists, AI researchers, software developers, and psychometricians who provide technical and scientific leadership for some of our most important strategic efforts companywide. • You will be actively and cross-functionally involved in the entire AI/ML model development lifecycle from design to deployment. • You will help design, develop, validate, operationalize, and monitor AI/ML models for our School (PreK-12) business unit, and you will collaborate closely with colleagues across functions like Product, Engineering, Learning Design, and User Experience to help company create and deliver world-class educational experiences. • In this role you will specifically enable the development of data-driven tools to author content more efficiently. • This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Plan, execute, and report on projects of diverse scope independently with weekly manager check-ins. • Propose solutions to business problems by tailoring DS/AI concepts/tools/techniques. • Perform research, analysis, and modeling, and present findings to key stakeholders. • Learn how to balance multiple projects and revise project plans as circumstances change. • Collaborate with colleagues in other functions to support the creation of compelling learning experiences. JOB REQUIREMENTS Education Requirement: • Doctoral degree (or equivalent) in AI, Data Science, or related field Experience Requirement: • Doctoral degree in a relevant field, or a combination of 3+ years of professional experience and a master's degree in AI, Data Science, Statistics, or a related discipline Skills and Experience: Required: • Conceptual knowledge of DS/AI through rigorous course work and industry applications • Demonstrated ability to apply DS/AI knowledge to lead projects from start to finish • Production experience with ML, NLP, and GenAI systems • Ability to create efficient, scalable Python code • Strong technical communication and collaboration skills Preferred: • Experience with LangChain/LangSmith • Commitment to the field of education • Experience with the K-12 educational ecosystem Primary Talent Partners is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer committed to diversity in the workplace.
