Data Scientist

Are you a detail-oriented Data Scientist with a passion for ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance in data-driven systems? We’re looking for a skilled professional to help shape our risk-focused code and model review function. In this role, you will work at the intersection of data science, engineering, and compliance—ensuring the scripts and models that power our business are aligned to intent, executed properly, and meet regulatory expectations. This is a remote contract, from 12/15/25 through 6/30/26. What You’ll Do • Review code and scripts to confirm alignment between script intent and actual execution. • Assess scripts and models for inherent compliance risk—distinct from overall model risk ratings. • Design and implement a risk scoring strategy to determine which scripts should be prioritized for review. • Perform in-depth code, design, and architecture reviews to ensure adherence to internal standards and external regulatory requirements. • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to identify issues, propose improvements, and strengthen controls across data processes. What We’re Looking For Top Skills (in priority order): • SQL • Python / PySpark You may be a great fit if you have: • Strong experience reviewing and validating data pipelines, scripts, or analytical models. • Expertise in evaluating technical implementations for compliance, accuracy, and alignment with business objectives. • Familiarity with model governance, MRM frameworks, or compliance risk assessment (a plus). • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex technical findings into actionable insights.
