Role description
Data Scientist | 4x Data Scientists wanted | Operational Research | Optimisation | Supply Chain
We're currently building a new team of Senior & Principal level Data Scientists for our FTSE100 client. Big focus on Operational Research & Optimization
Overview: Develop advanced models and analytics to unlock value from their operational data while ensuring solutions can be adapted for their other business units
This role requires expertise in AI/ML and a strong ability to translate insights into business impact.
Rate: Negotiable | Rough guidance £700 - £900 a day Inside IR35
Duration: 12 month initial Contract with extensions (3+ years worth of work minimum)
Location: West London - 2 days a week, with some European travel later in the project
Experience required:
• Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Strong statistical and/or analytical skills.
• Experience with a wide range of Data Science techniques (e.g. ML, Optimisation, Simulation, GenAI, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of optimization techniques, incl. supervised (regression, tree methods, etc.), unsupervised (clustering) learning, and operations research (linear, mixed integer programming, heuristics)
• Production ML or optimization software products at scale
• Demonstrated ability to take models from design through to production deployment, including performance optimization, monitoring, and integration into business workflows beyond proof-of-concept or prototype stages.
• Relevant Industry domain knowledge; i.e airline operations, supply chain analytics, transportation, operations, network problems
• Operational Research i.e
• Linear programming
• Mixed integer programming
• Heuristic optimisation
• Decision support modelling
