Job Title: Data Steward Senior Analyst – Record Retention & Deletion
Location: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)

About the Company
We are seeking a Data Steward Senior Analyst with strong experience in Record Retention and Deletion policies and processes to support a large enterprise data governance and compliance program.
About the Role
This role focuses on ensuring business units comply with enterprise data policies related to data retention, deletion, data quality, and data risk management. The position will work closely with product teams, data platforms, and compliance stakeholders to translate policy requirements into practical operational processes. This is not a reporting or dashboard role. The position centers on policy implementation, training, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure retention and deletion policies are understood and followed across the organization.
Responsibilities
• Serve as a subject matter expert for Record Retention and Deletion policies within assigned business units
• Identify and assess data-related risks, including retention compliance, data quality, data movement, and data protection
• Develop training materials and presentations that translate policy language into clear operational guidance
• Deliver training sessions and facilitate policy office hours for business and technology teams
• Collaborate with product managers and engineering teams to ensure new use cases align with data retention policies
• Support data governance initiatives, including data classification, metadata management, and data quality monitoring
• Contribute to improvements in data assessment processes and analytical tools
• Support regulatory reporting and compliance activities using existing enterprise platforms
• Partner with Data Steward leadership to support the data compliance roadmap
Qualifications
• 3–5 years of experience working with Record Retention and Deletion policies and processes
• 2–5 years of experience in Data Quality Management
• Strong understanding of data governance principles including metadata, lineage, data classification, and stewardship
• Familiarity with data architecture and data modeling concepts
• Experience working within Agile or SAFe delivery environments
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
• Ability to explain complex policy requirements in a clear, practical manner
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or related field
Preferred Skills
• Experience in financial services, payments, or travel industry environments
• Knowledge of RCSA (Risk Control Self-Assessment) frameworks
• Prior experience supporting enterprise data governance or compliance programs
Pay range and compensation package
Rate: $40-45/hr on W2 (Inclusive all taxes)
