Job Title: Data Storage Architect Location: Remote Contract Duration: 6 Months (with potential extension)
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Data Storage Architect for a 6-month remote contract to support the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise SAN/NAS storage solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in storage provisioning, performance tuning, and data protection across diverse environments including virtualized, Windows, and UNIX-based systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect, design, engineer, and manage enterprise SAN/NAS storage solutions across customer environments.
Provision and allocate storage resources to servers (VMware, Windows, UNIX/Linux), including defining RAID levels, LUNs, and volume configurations.
Configure and maintain data backup, redundancy, and restoration solutions based on business continuity requirements.
Harden and upgrade storage environments to ensure security, availability, and performance.
Troubleshoot complex storage issues and perform root cause analysis as needed.
Collaborate with infrastructure, virtualization, and application teams to align storage architecture with overall IT strategy.
Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
Required Skills and Experience:
5+ years of experience architecting and managing SAN/NAS environments in enterprise settings.
Proficient with Cisco and Brocade SAN Fabrics.
Strong knowledge of EMC SAN/NAS technologies, including Data Domain, Avamar, Isilon, and Dell EMC Power servers.
Experience working with storage protocols such as NFS, iSCSI, CIFS, S3, and Fibre Channel (FC).
Hands-on experience in storage provisioning and data migration.
Familiarity with enterprise backup and recovery tools and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
Industry certifications such as EMCISA, Dell EMC Proven Professional, or equivalent.
Experience with cloud-integrated storage and hybrid architectures.
Understanding of storage performance tuning and monitoring.
Familiarity with ITIL or other service management frameworks.
