Mi Familia Vota (MFV) and Mi Familia en Acción (MFA) are national Latino-led civic engagement organizations working year-round to strengthen democracy and empower our communities.
MFA, a 501(c)(3), focuses on nonpartisan programs such as citizenship, voter registration, voter education, and leadership development on key issues, including immigration, education, healthcare, voting rights, workers’ rights, reproductive rights, and the environment.
MFV, a 501(c)(4) organization, builds Latino political power through advocacy, organizing, and mobilization to ensure that Latino voices shape the policies that impact their health, safety, and prosperity.
Together, we operate one of the largest Latino civic engagement infrastructures in the country, with programs across eight states (Arizona, California, Nevada, Texas, Colorado, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida) and Washington, D.C.
Position Overview
Mi Familia Vota seeks a highly skilled and motivated Data and Tools Enablement Specialist to support our National and State teams. This role is dedicated to driving the adoption of our data and analytics tools and promoting strong data practices across the organization. The Specialist will design and deliver training programs, create enablement resources, and provide direct support to ensure staff at all levels can confidently use the systems and processes that power our work.
The position works closely with the Chief Data and Innovation Officer to implement the organization’s data strategy, strengthen data literacy, and embed data-driven decision-making into campaigns and programs. The Specialist will focus on building capacity, supporting adoption, and ensuring consistent, high-quality use of tools and data across all states.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
• Training, Enablement, and Adoption
• Design and deliver training programs (workshops, office hours, one-on-one coaching) to build staff confidence and capacity in civic engagement data and tools
• Develop user-friendly resources (guides, playbooks, templates, videos) to support ongoing learning and adoption.
• Create processes and structures that foster data collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and continuous learning across team.s
• Drive consistent adoption of core data systems such as EveryAction, VAN, phone and text banking platforms, and other community/ voter outreach tool.s
• Serve as the primary point of contact for staff questions and troubleshooting related to data tools and systems
• Monitor usage patterns to identify opportunities to improve adoption and ensure alignment with organizational standards.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to a team of data managers who support state staff, helping them adopt consistent processes and build effective training and support resources.
• Help staff incorporate Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) frameworks into their work.
• Data Strategy and Systems Support
• Collaborate with the Chief Data and Innovation Officer to implement the organization’s data strategy, focusing on data quality, integrity, accessibility, transparency, and governance.
• Support the rollout of standardized processes for data collection and reporting across states and programs.
• Assist in maintaining and optimizing data systems, ensuring they are reliable, secure, and user-friendly for staff
• Support reporting and visualization efforts by helping staff use dashboards and interpret insights
• Data Quality and Compliance
• Ensure state and national teams follow best practices for data quality, integrity, and accessibility.
• Support monitoring of data quality to ensure consistency, accuracy, and timeliness across states
• Encourage adherence to data privacy and compliance standards throughout all processes.
• Cross-Departmental Collaboration
• Collaborate with Campaigns, Programs, Communications, Development, and Finance teams to integrate data into planning and reporting.
• Work with national and state teams to align on data collection processes, dashboards, and reporting needs across the organization
You Could Be a Good Fit If You Have
• Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data management, analysis, or a related field, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role
• Hands-on experience with EveryAction, VAN, or similar CRM/ civic engagement tools, and data visualization tools such as Looker or Tableau
• Experience working in a nonprofit or civic engagement organization preferred
• Skills and Abilities:
• Strong team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate diverse teams
• Ability to translate technical processes into accessible, user-friendly guidance
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on building trust and collaboration
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify adoption challenges and propose solutions
• Familiarity with data privacy and compliance standards
• Additional Requirements:
• Ability to travel occasionally for training, conferences, and team meetings
