Role description
IO Datasphere, Inc. has been providing project management, software development and IT staff augmentation services to our clients in the Midwest and throughout the U.S. since 1996. We are an approved vendor on contract to provide software development and IT staff augmentation services for the States of Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. We also provide these services to businesses, as well as local and county governments, in the Midwest and nationwide. Our client is looking for a Data Warehouse Analyst. The team is responsible for the longitudinal data warehouse and other reporting systems (Microsoft Fabric/Power BI). These systems require extensive K-12 sector knowledge and experience integrating complex data and developing dashboards and reports to convey that information to staff, school districts and the general public. This person will be a member of a team practicing the Agile/Scrum development methodology. The candidates will be working to gather requirements, assure quality and generally build out the agency s modernized Public portal. Tasks β€’ Work on the transition of reporting and software features into technical requirements, such as epics, features, and stories following Agile/Scrum-based software development, as well as determine release plans and project scope. β€’ Work with and serve as a liaison between management and business units within, external stakeholders, product owners, developers, and the scrum master and product owner to identify and analyze opportunities for improving reporting processes and business systems. β€’ Responsible for conducting research, analyzing and documenting system requirements and business rules, and creating user stories. β€’ Responsible for creating functional requirements and specifications, preparing process flow diagrams, and assisting with quality assurance. β€’ Work closely with others to accomplish project objectives, or function independently to accomplish daily work requirements as a member of the team. β€’ Objectives, priorities and deadlines are established in consultation with the department leaders, project managers, and IT managers. NOTE: Candidate MUST be a WI resident or willing to relocate to WI prior to starting the role at their own expense. Position is nearly 100% remote, with 1-2 in person meetings in Madison, WI per year. Location: Remote from within the State of WI Contract: 1 years Skills Required: β€’ 3-5 years - Experience in data warehousing or dashboarding projects β€’ 3-5 years - Experience/Ability to create test plans and perform application, reporting and system regression tests β€’ 3-5 years - Experience/Ability to estimate phases of work and contribute to project planning, including experience writing user stories with clearly defined acceptance criteria. β€’ 3-5 years - Experience using relational databases (writing queries, etc.) using SQL Server β€’ Possess a fundamental understanding of end-to-end customer dashboard use integration and dependencies β€’ Experience preparing business requirements and functional specifications β€’ Experience using Azure DevOps or similar tools to manage user stories and sprint backlogs. β€’ Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and Power BI reporting solutions. Skills Desired A plus to have: β€’ Knowledge of data warehousing and reporting in the education sector (K-12/P20W). β€’ 2-5 years - Experience using Agile/Scrum Development Methodology β€’ Experience working with education software or reporting systems at the school, district, or state levels. β€’ Experience using Asana to track and report on project milestones. β€’ Rate depends on experience β€’ Candidates authorized to work in the US are encouraged to apply.
