About the Role: We are seeking an experienced ETL Developer to support the Data Analytics team for a large public school system located in Middle River, MD. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality and accessibility of data used in reports and dashboards. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Data Warehouse based on business and technology requirements. You will create, execute, and monitor ETL processes, validate data quality using SQL, and help design stable, reliable, and optimized databases. Essential Responsibilities: Support the Data Analytics Team in retrieving data from multiple data systems for use in reports and dashboards. Create, execute, and monitor ETL processes, including tracking issues and documenting findings. Develop and maintain the Data Warehouse according to business requirements and industry best practices. Create test scripts using SQL to validate data against transactional systems and the data warehouse. Plan and coordinate data migrations between systems. Collaborate with DBAs, architects, and application developers to design stable and effective databases. Assist in formulating business and testing requirements. Coordinate and perform unit, system, and performance testing, and work with team members on User Acceptance Testing. Ensure all work adheres to software development standards, change control procedures, and security requirements. Required Qualifications: Thorough knowledge of software development best practices. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field; may be substituted with an additional 5+ years of relevant software development experience. Demonstrated skill in SQL Server scripting and data modeling. Strong understanding of Data Warehousing principles, concepts, and architecture. Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project delivery dates. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
