Role description
Logistics Systems Incorporated (LSI) is a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business specializing in Information Technology and Logistics services. With a proven track record in Enterprise IT, Cybersecurity, Logistics Systems, and Business Solutions, LSI works with federal government agencies such as DISA, U.S. Army, Department of Justice, Homeland Security, and Health and Human Services. Our Contract Vehicles include GSA VETS 2, GSA (MAS), CDC CPR BPA, ITES – 3S, DOJ ITSS 5, and NHEITC. LSI maintains a Strategic Partner Network (SPN) of like-minded companies that provide members access to customer intimacy, past performance and contract vehicles. Position Overview: LSI is seeking an accomplished Data/AI Director to serve in a hybrid operational and business development leadership role. This individual will engage directly with senior executives, federal stakeholders, and internal teams to shape long-term strategies across a portfolio of Federal and commercial clients. The Data/AI Director will lead and develop a Data/AI Center of Excellence (COE), driving mission-focused solutions, modern data frameworks, and enterprise AI execution. This role requires strong relationship-building capabilities, strategic planning skills, and a deep understanding of data-driven transformation within Federal environments. Key Responsibilities Data/AI Center of Excellence (COE) Leadership • Build and lead a Data/AI COE that enables clients to modernize data structures, governance, and usage. • • Develop service offerings that support transformational data and AI initiatives aligned to client missions. • • Guide interpretation of data, trend identification, visualization, and meaningful analytics-driven insights. • • Translate complex business challenges into structured analytical tasks and data-driven solutions. Business Development • Support creation of targeted, real-time, data-informed solutions that enhance decision-making and operational efficiency. • • Work within client relationships to advance customer goals while supporting corporate objectives such as revenue growth and contract margin. • • Identify new opportunities with existing accounts and develop pathways into new customers and markets. • • Communicate client needs, pain points, and strategic priorities to LSI senior leadership. Strategic Planning • Align Data/AI COE initiatives with LSI’s broader corporate goals and innovation roadmap. • • Develop and cultivate relationships with new and existing strategic partners. • • Identify partners who can expand LSI’s reach within targeted Federal and commercial markets. • • Collaborate with partners to identify, shape, and pursue new business opportunities. Client Relationship Management • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior-level stakeholders, executives, and key customer accounts. • • Maintain long-term, high-value relationships with targeted Federal and commercial clients. • • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned customers, ensuring alignment, expectation management, and customer satisfaction. Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent relevant experience. • • 10+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years in data science, analytics, or data-related leadership roles. • • Experience supporting Federal customers; strong understanding of Federal data environments, processes, and expectations. • • Demonstrated ability to communicate and present effectively to executives and stakeholders at all organizational levels. • • Proven success delivering client-focused data solutions that align with customer needs and mission priorities. • • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills. • • Highly self-motivated and able to thrive in results-oriented environments. • • Strong prioritization, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. • • High attention to detail and commitment to meeting deadlines.
