Job Title: Senior Oracle Database Administrator
Location: Hybrid – 3 days onsite Minneapolis

Job Description
The Senior Oracle Database Administrator will support the Operational Technology (OT) side of the utility business, including SCADA and nuclear systems. Responsibilities include managing and supporting multiple database platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MariaDB. This position involves performance tuning, patching, database builds, backup and recovery, and scripting for automation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the database environments for OT Energy Services, including Distribution, Transmission, Nuclear, and other regulated applications.
• Create and maintain databases for test, development, and production environments.
• Analyze, test, and implement physical database design.
• Document environments and maintain current patches.
• Ensure data recovery, data integrity, and perform environment audits and capacity planning.
• Provide technical consultation with system administrators, technical managers, developers, and architects.
• Work cross-organizationally to drive adoption of standard tools and improve data integrity.
• Ensure IT solutions have sound data management practices.
• Provide expertise in integration of data, insights, and trends, and deliver solution recommendations.
• Enable data-driven decisions through domain expertise.
• Participate in on-call rotation (every 4 weeks for 7 days).
• Monitor DBA helpdesk and handle proactive and reactive alerts.
• Collaborate with internal teams on projects such as ADMS upgrades.
• Fulfill ServiceNow requests.
• Daily tasks include checking emails, resolving tickets, and supporting project needs.
Work Hours:
• Monday to Friday, 40-hour workweek.
• On-call rotation every 4 weeks.
Required Skills:
• 5–7 years of hands-on DBA experience preferred.
• Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MariaDB.
• Expertise in performance tuning, patching, backup and recovery, and database builds.
• Scripting with KornShell (Unix/Linux) and PowerShell (Windows).
• ServiceNow experience.
Preferred Experience:
• Utility or SCADA environments.
• Microsoft or Oracle certifications (e.g., OCP).
• Experience with scripting and automation tools.
• Experience with distributed computing, data visualization, statistical and predictive modeling, and machine learning.
Technical Knowledge Preferred:
• SQL Server versions 2014–2022.
• Oracle 12c, 19c, 21c.
• SSIS package development and reporting services.
• Database replication (mirroring, log shipping, replication).
• Oracle ASM, RAC, and Data Guard.
• T-SQL, PL/SQL, Shell Scripting, PowerShell.
• Windows/SQL Server clustering and AlwaysOn Failover Cluster.
• PostgreSQL and MySQL management.
