Database Engineer

NOT C2C ELIGIBLE. Introduction: Visium Resources has been asked to identify qualified candidates for this Cassandra Database Engineer position. This position is a 6+ month contract opportunity that will be on-site in Austin, TX. • This role is an upcoming need that’s job description is subject to change. • Ability to work in a hybrid environment (3 days onsite - M, W, Th and 2 days remote - Tu, Fr). Job Overview: The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing, implementing, and maintaining highly available, scalable Cassandra database systems. This role involves both engineering and administration responsibilities to ensure optimal database performance and reliability. Key Responsibilities: • Design, implement, and maintain Apache Cassandra databases in production environments. • Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize queries for efficiency. • Manage cluster configuration, replication, and scaling to meet application demands. • Develop and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures. • Collaborate with development teams to design data models and support application requirements. • Implement security best practices for database access and data protection. • Participate in database upgrades, patching, and routine maintenance tasks. • Document database configurations, processes, and procedures for internal use.
