Identify and understand customer needs and apply sound, demonstrable understanding of database principles, theories, and concepts related to software engineering to translate those needs to viable design solutions.
Demonstrate critical thinking skills with the ability to communicate concepts and ideas well.
Successfully integrate Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) products as part of customer-driven solutions.
Use proven problem solving and analytical skills.
Obtain and maintain SCI program access and complete polygraphs.
This is a 12 month with possible extension opportunity. Clearance Required: Active TS. Qualification Must have
Typically Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of Database Engineering experience.
Experience with Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) solutions, such as Oracle, Postgres, or related systems.
Experience working with Systems and Software Engineers to implement and modify backend databases to interact with applications within a development environment.
Experience virtualizing or containerizing databases.
Experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) and Database Engineer (DBE).
Experience using Linux command line to perform database administration activities.
Prefer
Existing Security+ Certification
Experience with AWS.
Experience with NoSQL database products such as MongoDB and DynamoDB.
Experience troubleshooting database issues such as DR, replication & backups and other related issues.
Experience troubleshooting performance issues
Experience with database security controls and audit & compliance requirements.
Experience with automating routine tasks.
Experience with Spatial databases
Coding experience (SQL, Python, Java) is helpful!
Pay Rate: - $85/hr.-$90/hr.
Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
