This position requires an active Top Secret Security Clearance. Candidates who do not hold this clearance are not eligible for hire. Solidus is hiring a Senior Database Engineer. This is an on-site role based in Richardson, TX. Day In The Life • Identify and understand customer needs and apply a sound, demonstrable understanding of database principles, theories, and concepts related to software engineering to translate those needs to viable design solutions • Utilize critical thinking skills with the ability to communicate concepts and ideas well • Create, update, and manage databases and the code that interacts with them • Successfully integrate Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) products as part of customer-driven solutions Required Qualifications & Experience: • US Citizen with an active Top Secret Clearance • Obtain and maintain SCI program access and complete polygraphs • Undergo a comprehensive background investigation • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) • 5 years of Database Engineering as a Database Administrator (DBA) and Database Engineer (DBE) • Experience with Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) solutions, such as Oracle, Postgres, or related systems • Experience working with Systems and Software Engineers to implement and modify backend databases to interact with applications within a development environment • Experience virtualizing or containerizing databases • Experience using the Linux command line to perform database administration activities • Obtain Security+ certification within 60 days of start • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills Preferred Qualifications & Experience: • Active TS/SCI is preferred • Existing Security+ Certification • AWS • NoSQL database products such as MongoDB and DynamoDB • Experience troubleshooting database issues such as DR, replication & backups and other related issues • Troubleshooting performance issues • Database security controls and audit & compliance requirements • Experience with automating routine tasks • Experience with Spatial databases • Coding experience (SQL, Python, Java) Benefit selections, customer contractual specifications, relevant work experience, skills, competencies, certifications, and clearance status will influence the final salary.
