Job Description: Data Platform & Architecture Lead (Product + Databricks Owner) (Confidential) Position OverviewWe are seeking a Data Platform & Architecture Lead to own a global Databricks ecosystem and guide modern data architecture across a complex enterprise environment. This role is a mix of platform ownership, product ownership, and hands-on technical leadershipβ€”built for someone who can set direction, drive adoption, and keep the platform governed, scalable, and secure. This is not a β€œkeep the lights on” role. It’s a build, evolve, and influence role. Key Responsibilities Databricks Platform Ownership (Global) Serve as the enterprise owner for Databricks, including platform roadmap, operating model, and architectural standards Define platform patterns for ingestion, transformation, orchestration, cataloging/metadata, access controls, and security Partner with cloud, infrastructure, security, and engineering teams to ensure stability, scalability, and performance Own upgrades, capacity planning, licensing governance, and cost/usage optimization Data Architecture Leadership Lead architecture decisions for modern data and analytics initiatives, ensuring repeatable standards and long-term scalability Create and maintain reference architectures and best-practice guidance for cloud-based data engineering workloads Advise teams on integration patterns, modeling strategies, pipeline design, compute patterns, and platform usage Evaluate tools and approaches that support modernization without creating platform sprawl Product Ownership Mindset Act as the product owner for the Databricks experience internally, translating business needs into platform capabilities Manage a backlog of platform enhancements, governance items, documentation, and enablement work Prioritize initiatives based on enterprise value, risk, adoption maturity, and operational impact Own vendor relationships and support engagement to keep roadmap alignment tight Adoption, Enablement, and Community Drive adoption across distributed teams through training, documentation, onboarding patterns, and reusable assets Build a user community and support model for data engineers, analysts, and advanced analytics users Establish a scalable onboarding path that accelerates delivery while maintaining guardrails Cross-Functional Partnership Collaborate with technology, security, and business stakeholders to align platform direction with enterprise priorities Communicate technical direction clearly to technical and non-technical audiences Provide leadership across strategic initiatives involving Databricks and cloud data platforms Qualifications Strong architecture experience with cloud data ecosystems (azure, aws, gcp, or equivalent) Hands-on experience with Databricks and Spark-based engineering patterns Experience owning a platform or product internally (platform owner, application owner, product owner, etc.) Strong working knowledge of data engineering, orchestration, governance, access controls, and security Strong communication skills and stakeholder presence across mixed technical audiences Experience driving adoption and standardization at enterprise scale Preferred Skills 7–12 years consulting experience supporting complex, multi-region environments Familiarity with Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, and modern governance frameworks Experience establishing platform operating models, support structures, and enablement programs Pay: From $150,000.00 per year Work Location: Remote
