Role description
The primary responsibilities of the Denodo Developer role include developing virtual data integration solutions, analyzing and optimizing existing integration queries/views, and developing new Denodo platform monitoring processes. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to proactively optimize long-running queries and provide thorough functional documentation. The ideal candidate brings over four years of advanced SQL querying experience, a solid grasp of data modeling, and expertise in troubleshooting performance issues. Prior experience with Denodo, traditional ETL tools, and Python is highly advantageous.
Responsibilities
β’ Create base views, derived views, integration views, and summary views.
β’ Write queries using SQL and VQL, including data transformations and data integration queries.
β’ Proactively work with teams who have long-running queries to help optimize these.
β’ Actively develop and implement new monitoring views and dashboards for the Denodo platform.
β’ Work with functional teams to develop new virtual data integration solutions.
β’ Create functional and technical documentation for Denodo data solutions.
Qualifications
β’ 4+ years of SQL experience working with OLTP, Data Warehouse and Big Data databases.
β’ 4+ years in a Data Analyst/Data Engineer/SQL Developer role.
β’ 2+ years writing medium to complex SQL queries/stored procedures.
β’ 2+ years of experience with Denodo.
β’ Experience with query optimization techniques.
β’ Experience developing and supporting REST and SOAP API data services.
β’ Experience in troubleshooting data quality and performance issues.
β’ Experience working in agile teams.
β’ Experience working with ticketing tools like Jira.
β’ Experience working with code versioning tools like GitLab.
β’ Strong understanding of data modeling, including dimensional modeling concepts.
β’ Strong understanding of data integrity concepts.
β’ Good communication skills.
β’ Self-motivated.
β’ Works well in team environment.
β’ Exposure to ETL tools like Informatica like ETL and Ab Initio a plus.
β’ Previous experience with Python development a plus.
β’ Previous experience with Master Data Management tools a plus.
β’ Big Data Experience a plus (Hadoop, MongoDB).
β’ Postgres and Cloud Experience a plus.
