Role description
Role Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced Developer III (Lead/Architect level) to drive strategic design, complex data architecture, and stakeholder alignment for a large-scale data migration initiative. This role will focus on transitioning legacy Oracle-based systems to a modern Snowflake data platform while ensuring scalability, governance, and business continuity. Key Responsibilities: 1. Strategic Design & Governance: • Lead architecture design and define target Snowflake data models (Bronze/Silver/Gold layers). • Drive migration from Oracle PL/SQL (row-based) to Snowflake SQL (columnar architecture). • Establish and enforce data governance, security, and compliance frameworks, including RBAC (Role-Based Access Control). • Define and standardize DBT frameworks, including macros, materialization strategies (Incremental vs. Table), and CI/CD pipelines. • Ensure alignment with enterprise data architecture and best practices. 1. Stakeholder & Change Management: • Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) efforts, particularly for inbound data and availability validation. • Act as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, translating technical gaps into business impact. • Serve as the primary escalation point for critical (P0) issues, including migration failures and data discrepancies. • Own cutover planning and execution, including Go-Live runbooks and final data synchronization from Oracle to Snowflake. 1. Leadership & Delivery Management: • Lead and manage offshore development teams, ensuring timely delivery and quality of work. • Provide technical guidance, code reviews, and mentorship to engineering teams. • Coordinate across cross-functional teams including data engineering, business users, and external vendors. • Deliverables. • Weekly status reports outlining progress, risks, and milestones. • Timely submission of timesheets and project documentation. • Successful execution of migration milestones and production deployment. Required Qualifications: • Extensive experience in Snowflake architecture and data warehousing. • Strong expertise in Oracle PL/SQL and migration to cloud-based platforms. • Hands-on experience with DBT, CI/CD pipelines, and modern data engineering practices. • Proven experience in enterprise data migration and transformation projects. • Strong understanding of data security, governance, and RBAC models. • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. • Experience leading onsite-offshore delivery models. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience working with public sector or large enterprise environments. • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies. • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage high-impact production issues.
