Developer - Starburst (Bank of America)

Role Overview We are seeking a highly experienced onshore Senior Application Developer / Technical Lead with strong expertise in Oracle Database, SQL, Starburst, and MicroStrategy (MSTR) to lead delivery of operational and Treasury reporting capabilities across the GTS Corporate Payments landscape. This role requires technical leadership, strong hands‑on engineering capability, and the ability to guide offshore developers while partnering closely with onshore product, operations, and data teams. Key Responsibilities • Lead design, development, and enhancement of Oracle SQL/PLSQL components, performance‑critical queries, and Treasury reporting pipelines. • Drive reporting architecture, data modelling, and integration patterns using Starburst and MSTR. • Provide technical direction and mentorship to offshore developers; own code quality, design reviews, and solution integrity. • Engage with business, product, and operations teams to shape reporting requirements and convert them into robust technical designs. • Troubleshoot high‑priority production and UAT issues; drive root‑cause analysis and long‑term fixes. • Ensure all deliverables meet control, audit, resiliency, and Treasury‑grade standards. Required Technical Skills • Extensive Oracle development background (advanced SQL, performance tuning, optimisation). • Strong experience with Starburst • Hands‑on MicroStrategy experience (semantic layers, schema objects, dashboards, automations). • High proficiency in building operational and regulatory reporting solutions. SDLC, Controls & Engineering Leadership (Must‑Have) • Proven leadership delivering end‑to‑end solutions across the full SDLC, with focus on controls, auditability, resiliency, production stability, and secure-by-design delivery. • Hands‑on expertise with GitHub Copilot, Copilot Studio. • Experience with internal developer platforms, CI/CD pipelines, Horizon, and SDLC/tooling.
