Role description
DevOps Engineer (Kubernetes) Contract: 4 months (Inside IR35) Rate: £500– £620 per day Location: Hybrid – 1–2 days per week on-site at London We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to support research-driven application deployments within a private cloud environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) pipelines to deploy applications and services across Virtual Machines and Kubernetes clusters. You will collaborate closely with end-users to understand requirements, ensuring solutions are efficient, reliable, and aligned with research and operational needs. Key Responsibilities: • Design, build, and manage Infrastructure as Code pipelines for application deployments. • Deploy and maintain applications using Kubernetes within private cloud infrastructure. • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automation and efficient workflows. • Work with researchers and stakeholders to translate requirements into robust, scalable solutions. • Optimise resource usage while ensuring application reliability and performance. Essential Skills & Experience: • Proven experience deploying applications with Kubernetes. • Strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform). • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines in production environments. Desirable Skills: • Knowledge of public and private cloud environments. • Previous experience working within a Higher Education or Research environment.
