Job Description:
Our client is seeking a skilled Senior Performance Engineer to lead efforts in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and speed of software products in production environments. This role will be responsible for designing and executing comprehensive performance and load testing strategies, developing automation frameworks, and collaborating closely with development and operations teams to identify and resolve bottlenecks. You will play a key role in building best-in-class testing environments, analyzing performance data, and mentoring team members on best practices to drive continuous improvement.
Required Skills:
β’ 5+ years of experience as a Performance Engineer or Load Testing Engineer in complex, distributed environments
β’ Proven expertise in performance testing strategy and architecture across multiple platforms and environments
β’ Strong hands-on experience with test automation, load generation, and scalability testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling, LoadRunner, k6)
β’ Deep understanding of cloud and distributed systems, with experience executing load tests against cloud-based architectures (AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, microservices)
β’ Scripting proficiency (Python, Java, JavaScript, Bash) for test automation and data analysis
β’ Experience designing, provisioning, and maintaining stable test environments that simulate production workloads
β’ Advanced monitoring and observability skills with tools like New Relic, Dynatrace, or similar
β’ Strong problem-solving skills to identify root causes, analyze complex data, and provide actionable insights
Bonus/Soft Skills:
β’ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
β’ Knowledge of CI/CD integration and pipelines for automated test execution
β’ Familiarity with reusable automation frameworks for performance regression testing
β’ Experience leading initiatives, mentoring team members, and collaborating across cross-functional teams
β’ Understanding of security, compliance, and data privacy requirements in performance testing environments
