Role description
JOB DESCRIPTION
A banking employer is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join their team in Middletown, CT. The preferred candidate will be able to come onsite, however they are open to remote for the right resource. This company has experience a significant amount of growth in recent years, and in turn they have expanded their IT organization and support capabilities. They are currently in the beginning stages of their cloud journey to migrate into Microsoft Azure, and are looking for the help of a DevOps Engineer as they lay the groundwork. The DevOps Engineer will work hand in hand with the Azure Cloud Engineering Lead to help create the foundation necessary for the company to move forward with migrating as many of their assets as possible to the cloud. They will be responsible for designing and managing the CICD pipelines using Azure DevOps and should have a strong understanding of pipeline automation including build, release, multi-stage, and approvals. They will be responsible for the integration of third-party tools such as SonarQube or security tools including MSDO into the CICD pipelines. The DevOps Engineer should be well versed in source control management and have the expertise in Git to branch strategies, pull requests, and merge conflict resolution. They will also be responsible for Infrastructure as Code utilizing Terraform for provisioning and managing the infrastructure and creating Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates. They will be involved in configuration management utilizing Ansible, Chef, or Puppet, and containerization and orchestration utilizing docker and Kubernetes. Additional duties may be centered around security and compliance, monitoring and logging, scripting and automation, and networking and storage. The right person will have strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with exemplary communication skills for collaboration.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
8+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer Expertise in any public cloud including Azure, AWS, or GCP Strong experience setting up new pipelines in a public cloud and managing the repositories Expertise building CI/CD pipelines from scratch (preferably using Azure DevOps) Expertise with Terraform for IaC General understanding of the overall Azure platform
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Experience with Git for source control management Experience with configuration management with Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
Pay Rate: $55-60/hour
