Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled GitHub Administrator with Automation experience to manage and optimize our GitHub Enterprise environment.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration, security, governance, and automation of GitHub workflows and repositories.
You will work closely with DevOps, Security, and Development teams to streamline CI/CD processes and ensure best practices are followed.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer GitHub and GitHub Enterprise (users, teams, repositories, access permissions).
Develop and maintain GitHub Actions workflows and reusable automation templates.
Automate repository creation, access provisioning, and policy enforcement using scripts (e.g., Python, Shell) or GitHub APIs.
Implement security best practices (e.g., branch protection rules, secrets management, audit logging).
Integrate GitHub with other DevOps tools like Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Jira, Slack, SonarQube, etc.
Monitor repository usage and optimize storage and performance.
Manage GitHub webhooks and API integrations.
Provide support and training to developers on GitHub usage, automation, and Git workflows.
Ensure compliance with internal and external security and regulatory standards.
Collaborate on internal tools and dashboards to monitor DevSecOps health.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience as a GitHub or Git administrator (GitHub Enterprise Cloud or Server).
Strong experience in automation using GitHub Actions, Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
Knowledge of Git workflows (Git Flow, Trunk Based Development, etc.).
Experience managing infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines.
Familiarity with API integration (REST/GitHub GraphQL).
Understanding of access control, SSO, OAuth, and compliance in GitHub.
Experience with DevOps toolchain (Terraform, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes a plus).
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
GitHub Admin Certification (if available) or similar DevOps certifications.
Experience in enterprise environments with large-scale repo management.
Knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., SOC2, ISO27001) and their relevance to code repositories.
