DevOps Engineer

Job Description – DevOps Engineer Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid/Remote options may be considered) Role Overview We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in AWS Cloud, Kubernetes/EKS, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building and maintaining highly available Kubernetes clusters, implementing disaster recovery (DR) strategies, and driving automation through Terraform. This role will also focus on observability, monitoring, and optimizing DevOps pipelines for enterprise-grade workloads. Key Responsibilities • Design, build, and manage highly available Kubernetes (EKS) clusters on AWS. • Implement and test Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies to ensure application resilience and uptime. • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform for consistent and repeatable deployments. • Manage and optimize CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar). • Containerize applications using Docker and manage deployments at scale. • Implement monitoring, logging, and observability solutions using Grafana, Prometheus, Signoz, and Datadog. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Developers, SREs, Cloud Engineers) to ensure secure, scalable, and efficient infrastructure. • Troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues, ensuring quick root-cause analysis and resolution. Required Skills & Experience • Strong hands-on experience with AWS Cloud services (VPC, EC2, IAM, Networking, Load Balancers, etc.). • Expertise in Kubernetes/EKS with proven experience setting up highly available clusters. • Practical experience with Disaster Recovery planning, testing, and execution in cloud environments. • Strong knowledge of Terraform and other Infrastructure as Code practices. • Proficiency with Docker and container lifecycle management. • Experience building and maintaining DevOps pipelines (CI/CD). • Deep knowledge of monitoring and observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Signoz, Datadog). • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications • Knowledge of OpenTelemetry (OTel) for distributed tracing and metrics. • Familiarity with security and compliance best practices in AWS and Kubernetes. • Experience with multi-region deployments and cloud cost optimization. • Prior experience in consulting or project-based delivery environments.
