Role description
Thanks for stopping by to take a look at the DevOps role I posted here on LinkedIN, I appreciate it. Allow me to introduce myself a bit. My name is Tom Welke. I am Partner & VP at RSM Solutions, Inc and I have been recruiting technical talent for over 23 years (been in the tech sector since the 1990s). So, I am going to be far more interested in 'fit' for a role like this one. A fit for you and a fit for the client. So, what makes for a good fit, you might ask? From a social standpoint, we are seeking that individual who doesn't wait to be told what to do...we are looking for that person that goes ahead and knows what to do and then just gets that thing done. In addition, this role is going to be pretty fast paced...so, that ability to fulfill on your commitments will be needed for success here. If you say you can and will do x, well...we kinda need you to get x done. This role is a contract role. I am only working with US Citizens or Green Card Holders for this one. In addition, I am only looking at candidates that are located in the greater Manhattan NY area for this one as well. This one is being done onsite in Manhattan. I am not working with external vendors on this role. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented DevOps Engineer to join this client's Front Office Equities Development team. In order for this role to be a fit, we would need you to have extensive experience in scripting, application development, and CI/CD processes. In addition, we would need to see extensive experience in the Investment Banking / Equities / Trading vertical. Without that industry experience, we wont have a fit for this role. Responsibilities β€’ Collaborate with development and operations teams to design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes. β€’ Develop and maintain UNIX shell scripts to facilitate system automation and enhance operational workflows. β€’ Design, develop, and support Java and Python applications to meet trading business needs. β€’ Manage and optimize databases using MS SQL and Snowflake to ensure high performance and reliability. β€’ Utilize configuration management tools (Ansible) to maintain consistent environments across development, testing, and production. β€’ Monitor and troubleshoot applications and infrastructure using tools such as Splunk, Elastic Search, Filebeat, and Kibana. β€’ Administer and maintain application servers (Tomcat) and microservices deployed on SpringBoot3. β€’ Implement and manage message queues using Kafka and Active MQ for efficient data flow across applications. Required Qualifications β€’ At least 5 years of DevOps experience. This experience needs to be in the investment banking / trading / equities space. Without that experience in that investment banking 'sphere', we wont have a fit. β€’ At least 5 years of CI/CD, Jenkins, Ansible and DevOps best practices experience. β€’ At least 5 years of UNIX scripting, Java, and Python. β€’ At least 5 years of experience with MS SQL, Snowflake, and PowerBI for data management and visualization. β€’ Hands-on experience with Tomcat, SpringBoot3, and message brokers like Kafka and Active MQ. β€’ Familiarity with distributed caching systems (Hazelcast) and search/analytics tools (Elastic Search, Kibana, Splunk).
