Role description
Role: Devops Engineer Location: : Phoenix, AZ (100% Onsite role/ Locals only) Job Type: Contract Job Summary Role Summary The DevOps Engineer will design and implement enterprise-grade reporting, dashboards, and observability solutions in support of an SDLC control framework. The role requires close collaboration with engineering, security, compliance, and executive stakeholder teams to deliver scalable, automated reporting pipelines. The engineer will build interactive dashboards and scorecards, establish data quality validation processes, and translate compliance requirements into measurable KPIs. Documentation, knowledge transfer, and cross-team metric validation are also core expectations of this engagement. 🧩 Key Responsibilities • SDLC Control Framework • Review and understand existing SDLC control definitions and reporting requirements; identify and document data sources needed to measure each control. • Reporting Architecture & Data Modeling • Design scalable reporting architecture and data models to support SDLC control reporting at the portfolio level. • Dashboard & Scorecard Development • Build interactive dashboards and scorecards for engineering leadership, risk, compliance, and executive stakeholders. • Automated Reporting • Develop automated reports measuring control compliance, control effectiveness, and portfolio-level performance. • Data Quality & Reconciliation • Establish data quality validation and reconciliation processes to ensure accuracy and consistency across reporting outputs. • Cross-Team Collaboration • Collaborate with engineering, security, DevOps, platform, and governance teams to validate metrics and align on reporting standards. • Documentation & Knowledge Transfer • Document dashboard logic, metric definitions, data lineage, and reporting processes; provide knowledge transfer to enable internal team maintenance. 🛠️ Required Skills Technical Skills • Observability Stack: ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), Grafana • Programming: Python • Operating Systems: Linux (command-line proficiency) • DevOps Pipeline Tools: XLR, Jenkins, GitHub Actions • Databases / Query: SQL (strong), Data Analysis • Integration / ETL: API-based data integration, ETL processes from enterprise systems • Governance / Frameworks: SDLC, DevSecOps, technology governance, KPI definition, enterprise reporting • Data Practices: Data Modeling, Data Quality Validation, Dashboard & Scorecard design Soft Skills • Strong stakeholder communication and requirements-gathering skills • Ability to translate compliance and governance requirements into measurable KPIs • Clear technical documentation and knowledge-transfer ability • Cross-functional collaboration across engineering, security, and executive teams 🎓 Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience) • 5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps engineering, with demonstrated work in observability, reporting, and SDLC frameworks • Experience with DevSecOps practices and technology governance is a strong plus
