DevOps Engineer

Title: DevOps Engineer Location: Huntsville, Alabama (100% Onsite) Clearance: Active Top Secret required; must be willing to sit for a CI Polygraph Type: Direct Hire Contact: Cdinnocenti@altaits.com About the Role ALTA IT Services is seeking a DevOps Engineer to support a mission-critical government program in Huntsville, AL. In this role, you will design, deploy, and maintain DevSecOps infrastructure tools while ensuring secure, reliable, and efficient system operations. This is a senior-level, hands-on engineering role where you will manage infrastructure, support cybersecurity objectives, and drive automation in a Linux-based environment. Key Responsibilities • Design, deploy, test, certify, patch, and maintain DevSecOps infrastructure tools. • Oversee Operations & Maintenance (O&M) of multiple mission tools. • Deploy and configure services using Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) providers. • Configure and manage Linux-based servers to support dynamic websites. • Debug cluster-based computing architecture. • Use scripting/programming to automate and solve problems. • Install and manage open-source monitoring tools. Required Qualifications • Active Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain/maintain a CI Polygraph. • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) required. • 5+ years of experience in DevOps-related tasks. • Strong experience with: • Linux administration. • Testing, deploying, and maintaining infrastructure hardware/software for cybersecurity. • Developing and maintaining applications, utilities, and tools for cybersecurity. Preferred Skills & Certifications • Certifications: • Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Associate • Experience with: • Integrating third-party components & developing custom capabilities. • Automation of O&M tasks and process improvement. • Splunk, Oracle/SQL platforms, and Python scripting.
