What you'll do:
• Engage collaboratively with an international team of specialists to design, implement, and sustain sophisticated developer tools and systems supporting the software development lifecycle for a substantial user base.
• Apply your expertise in Python development to construct resilient solutions that enhance development environments across both private and public cloud platforms.
• Facilitate the seamless integration of exemplary SDLC tools encompassing source control management, code review mechanisms, issue tracking systems, build automation processes, testing frameworks, code quality analysis instruments, continuous integration platforms, and integrated development environments.
• Participate in significant project initiatives within an agile framework, ensuring effective coordination with distributed teams spanning multiple time zones.
• Conduct thorough investigations into intricate technical challenges to discern root causes and deliver considered resolutions that elevate system reliability and performance.
• Support the deployment and orchestration of infrastructure utilising technologies such as Containers, Kubernetes, Terraform, or Ansible to enable scalable software distribution.
• Integrate development tools with leading cloud service providers including Azure or AWS to streamline operational workflows and augment developer productivity.
• Contribute to ongoing process enhancement initiatives aimed at refining automation pipelines for build, test, deployment, and monitoring activities.
• Offer technical guidance and share expertise with colleagues to foster a culture of perpetual learning and mutual support within the team.
• Uphold security best practices throughout all solutions while ensuring compliance with organisational standards.
What you bring:
• Demonstrable hands-on experience in developing robust solutions using Python within intricate technical settings.
• Familiarity with supplementary programming languages such as Java, C#, or Typescript would be advantageous for cross-functional collaboration.
• Comprehensive understanding of SDLC tooling including source control management systems (e.g., Bitbucket, Github), code review platforms, issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira), build automation tools (e.g., Jenkins), test frameworks, code quality analysis tools, continuous integration systems (e.g., Azure DevOps), and widely used IDEs (e.g., IntelliJ, PyCharm).
• Proven history of contributing as a developer on large-scale projects within agile teams distributed across various locations.
• A genuine interest in exploring system intricacies-demonstrating curiosity and diligence when addressing technical issues.
• Experience deploying applications using Containers and Kubernetes for scalable software distribution is highly desirable.
• System administration capabilities on Linux or Windows platforms provide valuable support for infrastructure management tasks.
• Practical experience integrating development tools with major cloud providers such as Azure or AWS enhances workflow efficiency.
• Prior involvement in developing or automating build pipelines using technologies like Terraform or Ansible is considered beneficial.
