Implement, maintain and design various Microsoft Cloud applications and deployments using Microsoft infrastructure, Azure DevOps, and GitHub.
Responsible for writing cloud formation templates for various services in Microsoft Cloud and creating build pipelines and release pipelines for deploying infrastructure into Microsoft Cloud using code pipeline.
Candidate Requirements
Education & Experience Required:
- Bachelorβs degree with 8+ yearsβ experience
- If no degree, they must have at least 12 yearsβ experience
Technical Skills
(Required)
- Experience with Entra, Azure, and Power Platform administration through portals, CLI, and CI/CD
(Desired)
- IaC CI/CD with GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps Pipelines
- Experience with Terraform

Positionβs Contributions to Work Group:
As a Cloud Engineer, will be responsible for ensuring stable operations of the Microsoft Cloud Operations and for maintaining standards and practices in Cat Digitalβs Microsoft Cloud environment. This role will be to manage, control, administer, monitor, and improve the status of resources deployed in our Microsoft Cloud environment. You will be responsible for proactive configuration changes to minimize operational disruptions and oversight of cloud services that are used by the organization.
β’ Creating and maintaining cloud systems and processes.
β’ Work with Microsoft to analyze issues and create solutions based on best practices.
β’ Identify and implement automated solutions to support operational and development efforts.
β’ Monitor and manage Microsoft Cloud environment.
β’ Works independently on complex systems or infrastructure components that may be used by one or more applications or systems.
β’ Maintains high standards of cloud operational quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits
β’ Identifies and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team
β’ Communicate with internal team and internal customers to help direct development, debugging, and testing of application software for accuracy, integrity, interoperability, and completeness
β’ Worker is also responsible for performing other job duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time.
Typical task breakdown:
β’ Support and administer Microsoft Cloud environments including but not limited to Azure, Power Platform, and Dynamics365.
β’ Engage with business personnel including project managers, products owners, and end-users as needed providing well-rounded contributions based on strong cloud expertise.
β’ Consult with solution architects, developers, DevOps engineers, security engineers and other team members to ensure a successful project delivery.
β’ Contribute to and peer review various technical documents including infrastructure as code.
Interaction with team:
β’ DevOps Team consists of 13 currently and will be supporting a new project that has 60+ project members. This team also supports other established applications within the organization.
β’ This team is cross-functional. Successful team members will be expected to think outside the box, learn new skills, etc., to support each other and the project.
