Overview
We are looking for an experienced Dynatrace Engineer to join our observability engineering function on a 12-month day-rate contract. You will design, implement, and maintain scalable observability solutions across cloud environments, using Dynatrace and Infrastructure-as-Code principles to enable automated, reusable, and self-service monitoring capabilities.
The ideal candidate will have strong Terraform skills, a deep understanding of the Dynatrace product suite, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional engineering teams in a fast-paced, agile environment.
This role requires active UK SC clearance and will be delivered on a hybrid basis from London.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, build, and support Dynatrace-based observability solutions across cloud platforms and enterprise systems.
• Develop reusable Terraform modules to automate Dynatrace onboarding, configuration, and environment deployment, reducing manual operational effort.
• Implement comprehensive observability across applications and infrastructure using:
• Real User Monitoring (RUM)
• Full-Stack Monitoring
• Synthetic Monitoring
• Log Management & Analytics
• Instrument systems for metrics, logs, and traces to ensure end-to-end performance visibility.
• Collaborate with engineering and platform teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable observability solutions.
• Provide documentation, patterns, and self-service guidance to support enablement across business units.
• Integrate Dynatrace with core AWS and Azure services, supporting multi-cloud monitoring requirements.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and guide best practices around alerting, dashboards, performance optimisation, and incident response.
Required Skills & Experience
• Active UK Security Clearance (SC) – essential for this role.
• Hands-on experience operating Dynatrace in complex or enterprise environments.
• Strong Terraform experience with proven ability to create reusable, automated modules.
• Solid observability expertise across metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, and distributed monitoring.
• Strong understanding of Dynatrace features, including:
• RUM
• Full-Stack Monitoring
• Synthetic Monitoring
• Log Management & Analytics
• Working knowledge of AWS and Azure cloud services and integration practices.
• Excellent communication skills, able to work directly with engineering teams and influence platform adoption.
• Proven ability to design self-service observability patterns with minimal manual intervention.
• Comfortable learning new Dynatrace capabilities and adapting quickly in an agile delivery environment.
Desirable Experience
• Relevant certifications (Dynatrace, AWS, Azure, Terraform).
• Background in DevOps, SRE, platform engineering, or cloud automation.
• Experience building observability solutions at enterprise scale.
Why This Role
• Hands-on opportunity to shape and evolve observability across a large, modern cloud environment.
• Work with cutting-edge Dynatrace tooling and automation-first practices.
• Long-term 12-month contract with hybrid working in London.
• Collaborative, engineering-focused culture with strong strategic alignment.
If you hold active SC clearance and are looking for a long-term contract that blends observability engineering, cloud platforms, and Terraform automation, we would welcome your application.
