Job Tile: IBM Transformation Extender (ITX) Specialist/Electronic Data Interchange Specialist Location: Remote Duration: 6-7 Months on w2 Payrate: $68.18/hr on w2 Job Description: As an ITX Specialist you will be responsible for the end-to-end design of scalable, maintainable, and high-performance integration solutions supporting healthcare payer operations. The ideal candidate has significant domain expertise in healthcare EDI standards (X12, HIPAA, HL7) and a passion for delivering future-ready architectures that meet enterprise interoperability and compliance needs. Responsibilities: β€’ Lead the scalable design and implementation of IBM ITX-based integration solutions across healthcare payer systems. β€’ Architect and optimize transformation maps and data flows for high-volume healthcare EDI transactions such as 837, 835, 834, 270/271, 276/277, 278, 820, and NCPDP. β€’ Ensure solution architectures are modular, extensible, and aligned with enterprise integration patterns and scalability goals. β€’ Act as the SME for the ITX Pack for Healthcare Payer, offering best practices on compliance, transformation rules, and partner onboarding. β€’ Collaborate across business and technical teams to translate complex integration needs into resilient and scalable ITX solutions. β€’ Develop architectural and interface documentation supporting deployment, maintenance, and knowledge transfer. β€’ Guide and mentor teams on solution design patterns, performance tuning, and reuse strategies. β€’ Work with DevOps and release management teams to integrate ITX solutions into CI/CD pipelines and scalable infrastructure. β€’ Conduct impact analysis and proactive performance testing to ensure long-term scalability and reliability. Experience/Preferred Skills Required: β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred). β€’ 10+ years of experience in EDI/integration development, with at least 7 years of hands-on IBM ITX expertise in healthcare payer environments. β€’ Proven experience in designing scalable data transformation solutions using IBM ITX with complex type trees and mapping. β€’ Strong command of HIPAA X12 transaction sets and healthcare business processes (837, 835, 834, 270/271, 276/277, 278, 820, and NCPDP). β€’ Demonstrated ability to lead enterprise-wide, scalable architecture initiatives and performance-tuned deployments. β€’ Familiarity with enterprise integration platforms such as IBM B2Bi, Sterling Integrator, or equivalent. β€’ Ensure compliance with CAQH CORE Operating Rules for Eligibility & Benefits (270/271), Claim Status (276/277), and Payment & Remittance (835). β€’ Conduct gap analysis and remediation planning for CORE rule adoption. β€’ Monitor and interpret updates to CAQH CORE rules and translate them into β€’ actionable system or process changes. β€’ Competence in scripting for automation (e.g., Shell, JavaScript, Python) and working with cloud or containerized environments. β€’ Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present architecture decisions to both technical and business stakeholders.
