Embedded Data Scientist – Contract London (Hybrid – 2 days on-site when required) Inside IR35 | Up to £750/day | 6 months A rare opportunity to join a large-scale, mission-critical operations environment that runs one of the most complex transport networks in the world. You’ll sit within a modern product-led data squad, building industrial-grade optimisation and machine-learning models that directly influence real-world operational decisions at scale. Key skills & experience • Strong experience in optimisation and/or machine learning (this is essential) • Advanced Python for production systems (clean, tested, object-oriented code) • Hands-on with operations research techniques (LP, MIP, heuristics) • Solid data engineering skills (Python & SQL) • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) • Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, automated testing, and workflow orchestration (Dagster / Airflow) • Exposure to large-scale operational domains What you’ll be doing • Building and industrialising optimisation & ML models as part of a full-stack product team • Developing robust Python data pipelines and production-grade algorithms • Designing solutions that integrate end-to-end: data ingestion, orchestration, and user workflows • Applying operations research, optimisation, and ML techniques to real operational problems To hear more, get in touch with Connor Smyth at Anson McCade.
