Role description
We are seeking a highly skilled SCM/Changeman Engineer with 3+ years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mainframe technologies and experience utilizing SCM and Changeman tools to manage the software development lifecycle.
This role pays between $45 to $65 per hour on a w-2 basis.
Responsibilities:
β’ Source Code Management:
β’ Manage and maintain source code repositories using SCM tools (e.g., Changeman, Endevor, Git).
β’ Perform code branching, merging, and version control activities.
β’ Troubleshoot and resolve SCM-related issues.
β’ Change Management:
β’ Utilize Changeman to manage the entire software change lifecycle.
β’ Create, track, and prioritize change requests.
β’ Automate workflows and enforce development standards.
β’ Perform impact analysis to assess the potential impact of changes.
β’ Release Management:
β’ Plan and execute software releases, coordinating with development, testing, and operations teams.
β’ Create and maintain release documentation.
β’ Deploy software releases to production environments.
β’ Problem Solving:
β’ Diagnose and troubleshoot SCM and Changeman issues.
β’ Identify and implement solutions to improve efficiency and reliability.
β’ Collaboration:
β’ Work closely with development, testing, and operations teams to ensure smooth software delivery.
β’ Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
Qualifications:
β’ Strong understanding of mainframe technologies (z/OS, JCL, COBOL, DB2)
β’ Proven experience with SCM tools like Changeman, Endevor, Git
β’ Knowledge of software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall)
β’ Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
β’ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
β’ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
β’ Experience with automation tools (e.g., JCL, REXX)
β’ Knowledge of DevOps practices
Certification in mainframe technologies or SCM/Changeman
