As an Engineering Business Data Analyst, you’ll deliver data-driven insights that support mission-critical technologies used across the globe. In this role, you’ll analyze complex business challenges using internal and external data to drive informed decision-making across engineering and development teams.
Compensation: $32-$48/hr
Schedule: On-site 5 days/week. Hours: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM–4:30 PM (9-hour days), and Friday, 7:00 AM–11:00 AM (4-hour day).
Duties & Responsibilities
• Data Collection and Metrics: Generate datasets and reports for analytical purposes using system reporting tools and data visualization software. Create and customize reports and analyses to meet project and product requirements by utilizing test and analysis data outputs. Define data requirements, gather, and validate information as needed.
• Data Analysis: Perform analyses and statistical tests under the guidance of senior staff, drawing meaningful conclusions. Identify and interpret trends and patterns in datasets to quantify project and product performance and provide strategic recommendations.
• Process and Tool Support: Collaborate with development teams to support processes and database-driven tools used in development projects. Analyze metrics from data within these tools to ensure optimal project outcomes.
• Cross-functional Coordination: Work closely with various functional groups within the development teams, attend meetings to collect data, and present conclusions or recommendations based on analytical insights.
• Reporting and Documentation Development: Develop and refine processes, databases, and methods for data collection and preparation for analysis with guidance from senior staff. Prepare comprehensive documentation and visualizations for reports intended for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Metrics and Performance Analysis: Consistently determine and analyze relevant metrics to evaluate and improve ongoing development projects.
• Report Generation: Regularly produce tailored reports and analyses to address specific project and product needs, ensuring data accuracy and relevance.
• Support and Innovation: Actively support the evolution of processes and tools used in data analysis and reporting. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by developing innovative solutions for effective data management and utilization.
Education/Experience Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, Social Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• At least two years of experience in a data analyst role, preferably within the manufacturing, sales, or engineering sectors.
