Role description
Position Title: Senior Epic BI Developer Duration: 6-12 Months Location: Oakland, CA / Alpharetta, GA (Hybrid) Job Description: As a Senior Epic System Analyst - Reporting and Analytics, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing reporting and analytics solutions within the Epic EHR environment. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of Epic reporting tools, data structures, and analytics to enhance decision-making processes and support our organization's commitment to data-driven healthcare. Responsibilities Driving the analytics implementation to meet organizational goals and initiatives Measuring ongoing success of analytics after golive and making necessary adjustments Reviewing upgrade documentation related to analytics tools and content and determining how to implement, disseminate, and train the changes Assisting the Business Intelligence Developers in identifying the right solution for each request Configuring and testing Epic released and Foundation System content for all applications, including Reporting Workbench SlicerDicer Radar Cogito SQL Creating content to display Epic data from Chronicles, Clarity, and Caboodle Writing SQL and configuring Radar settings for custom SQL metrics Creating new reports and Modifying existing reports, as necessary Distributing analytics content to data consumers Reviewing peer reports for validity Working with subject matter experts to understand the needs of data consumers Maintaining the Analytics Catalog and associated metadata records Testing analytics build in a specified testing environment and volume testing in live environments Reviewing upgrade documentation related to Cogito features and determining how to implement the changes BIDS might also be responsible for building and maintaining: Cubes Extracts SlicerDicer custom filters Required skills 3+ years of Epic Data Architecture and Integration experience 10+ years focused technical work within a data and ETL Expert knowledge of Epic modules, terminology, data stores (Chronicles, Clarity, Caboodle) and Hyperspace self-service reporting tools including Reporting Workbench, Slicer Dicer models and Radar Dashboards. Strong working knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, CCDs etc.) Experience performing data discovery, analysis, and profiling Experience creating logical source-to-target mappings which data can use Experience designing and building solutions that ingest data via APIs Very strong SQL query language skills Business and technical requirements elicitation, analysis, and elaboration experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong consulting, problem-solving, and customer relationship skills Ability to navigate HL7, CDA, and flat file formatted data Key Competencies Leading, coordinating, and facilitating effective meetings Strong communication skills Userfocused design and data visualization skills Proficiency with SQL and relational database concepts Proficiency and demonstrated experience with analytics tools Familiarity with Epic applications and database structure, through training that occurs early in the implementation Ability to gain an indepth understanding of the data model through data model classes geared toward content areas Ability to understand data structures that could benefit the entire data environment For financial reporting: Prior experience working with an AR system is desirable, but not required For clinical reporting: Prior experience working with an EMR system is desirable, but not required Understanding of system build, end user workflows, and patterns of use Certifications Access Data Model Certification Clinical Data Model Certification Revenue Data Model Certification Cogito Fundamentals Certification Cogito Tools Administration Badges for Radar SQL Metrics, SlicerDicer Custom Build, and Cogito SQL Note: Hiring manager would prefer candidates to be local to an office location (SF, Oakland, or Alpharetta). Candidates local to office locations would be expected to be in office 2-3 days a week. If remote candidates are submitted, candidates local to office will be given preference. However, if a remote candidate is chosen, the resource will be expected to come in office every month for a minimum of 2 days. Interview Process: 1 - Initial screening with hiring manager. 2- Technical/Epic Interview with team. 3- Final round interview with leadership.
